Look at the face of the child as she plays.
Look at the man in the rocker.
Look at the flower, look at a star.
Watch the eyes of those in love.
Would you know the spirit of God?
There are ways to know it.
Watch the young bird as it finds it can fly.
Face the rain, let it wash you.
Learn about gentling from the first snow.
Know the strength that comes from care.
Would you feel the pain of God?
There are ways to feel it.
Listen to words that will cut and destroy.
Think about nations that struggle.
Think about people suffering and poor.
Look at jails, and guns and bombs.
Would you have the heart of God?
There are ways to show it.
Pardon each other after a hurt.
Live every day to the fullest.
Work so that people truly are free.
Build up people with your love."
